She has worked on expedition voyages for 38 seasons now, at both ends of the earth and at many places in between. She has held several different positions within the expedition team, but her main role has been as one of our most engaging and knowledgeable lecturers – speaking passionately and infectiously on topics spanning history, culture and intrepid exploration. Arctic fox with summer coat ALEX (SASHA) FREL – Historian Alex is both a US and Czech national who graduated from Moscow State University with a Master of Art’s Degree in Russian Literature. Alex has been an avid traveller all his life during which he has developed a particular interest in, and deep knowledge about, the various desert environments around our world. He enjoys visiting historical and archaeological sites, as well as sailing and bird watching, and loves sharing what he has learned as a historian on Silversea Expedition voyages all around our fascinating planet.
